Why haven’t I heard about itrades previously.
A.itrades is part of www.iimprove.co.uk an online building supplies and quoting service which launched in May 2010.

What is the benefit to me?

itrades offers a platform for you to register your details and professional skills and services, our customers have free access to the itrades database when searching for a company or individual to quote for building work.

Why itrades?

The itrades database targets the right audience. Statistically many people buying building materials will also require tradespeople for their project.
Q.
What is the cost?
A.
 
We are offering free membership until the end of April 2012. Once registered, you will receive an invitation to renew your subscription at the end of the qualifying free period. Renewal is not compulsory
Q.
Why is this service free and what is the catch?
A.
 
We believe it will take a period of time and advertising to promote brand awareness and during this process registration is free as we are unable to pre-empt website traffic.
Q.
How much will renewal cost?
A.
 
We anticipate an annual subscription fee of £120 (plus VAT) which equates to just £10 (plus VAT) per month or £2.50 (plus VAT) per week for this service. There are no additional hidden costs

Do I have to commit right now? 
A.
Not at all, however the sooner you register the sooner you benefit from work potential.

Are there any other benefits from becoming an itrades member?

Members benefit from free listing and advertising on itrades until 1st May 2012 with a personalised listing where you can list your main trade and up to four additional trades. Access to iimprove, an online sourcing and quoting service offering you the flexibility of shopping at your convenience and as well as a 5% discount on any iimprove orders you place.

What if a customer gives me a bad review which is not legitimate?

We do not provide a vetting service however all reviews and comments are checked for content by our staff before they are published on the website. We also encourage members to monitor their profile and email our staff regarding any review/comments issues.
Q.
What happens if I have forgotten my password/login details
A.
 
Simply click the “login” button and request a new password. This will be emailed to you and you can then log on with this password to access your account. You then have the opportunity to change this password to something more memorable.

How can I search for a tradesman?

From the itrades homepage enter your postcode or area then select your required trade and click the search button. All relevant tradespeople within your local area will be displayed.

How can I choose a tradesman?
A.

 
We have designed a tradesperson review system to assist the decision making process. Using the tradesperson’s profile information and customer reviews as a guide we recommend you create a shortlist from which to obtain quotations and relevant information pertinent to your project or job.

How can I trust a tradesman?
A.

 
itrades is a directory of contacts, we do not act as an agent or contractor and tradespeople are not vetted prior placement on the database, therefore when selecting a tradesperson you should always perform your own checks relating to qualification, insurances, testimonials etc. before entering into a contract.

Feedback – what if I am dissatisfied with the workmanship?

itrades are not an agent or contractor and are not involved in any way with contractors work. It is your responsibility to raise any issues or complaints directly with the other party and resolve them in an independent manner. We do however encourage both parties to request relevant information from the other party before entering into any contract to ensure the relationship is of a sound nature and in good standing.

How can I leave a review?

Once your job has been completed we encourage you to post a review so that other users of the site can benefit from your experience. We do however ask that you ensure this information is fair and accurate. To do this simply click on your tradesperson’s profile and follow the information request guide. Your review will be checked by our staff before publishing on the website.

Is there a cost for using the itrades service?

There is absolutely no cost involved for customers using the itrades directory, it is simply a tool designed to offer you contacts and choice should you wish to use it.  itrades operates hand in hand with iimprove for all your project requirements.
